This was a commission for Pensacola's, "Tidings of Comfort and Joy," Christmas concert. My good friend (and PSO colleague), Stephanie Riegle, asked me to write a wintery minor-key piece that she could play with piano at the 2013, "Tidings" concert. Drawing a little bit from my own, "Winter Night" song, I used the 6/8 time signature and a brisk tempo to help propel the piece and convey a feeling of the icy winds of the season. The world premiere of, "Winter Pastorale," took place on December 23rd, 2013 with Stephanie and pianist Tina Buran. Scores Winter Pastorale Set of parts (PDFs) - $15
