"Rowing Variations"

Quartet for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon

Quite simply, this is a theme and variations on, "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," that I put together for some Symphony outreach concerts at local elementary schools.

The bassoon introduces the original tune and then each variation presents the theme in a variety of different styles from romantic waltzes to Arabian atmospherics to a paraphrase of part of Stravinsky's "Pulcinella."
